Reversing Diabetes: The END Of Medicinal Diabetes Care

  • Exercise- We all know that getting daily exercise can prevent a myriad of health problems, but for diagnosed diabetics, daily exercise plays a large role in reversing diabetes and its affect on the body. Studies have shown that regular exercise not only aids in weight loss, but can also lower blood sugar, improve insulin sensitivity, strengthen the immune system, improve your circulation, lower the blood pressure, reduce LDL (bad) cholesterol and raise your HDL (good cholesterol). It will even lower the risk of heart disease. Regular exercise can drastically reduce high risk patients’ chances of developing type 2 diabetes.
  • Nutritional Supplements- There are many nutritional supplements that can aid in reversing diabetes. Some of these nutritional supplements are fenugreek, chromium, Alpha Lipoic Acid, cinnamon and magnesium. When taken daily and in the proper dosage, these supplements (and others) have been shown to lower blood sugar and insulin levels, reduce your cholesterol and triglyceride levels, and lower your blood pressure. In addition, the supplements reduce your risk for heart trouble and give you more energy. There are also several vitamins that should be included in diabetes care to help in reversing diabetes. They are Vitamin A which strengthens the eyes thus reducing the risk of retinopathy; Vitamin C which helps with any vascular concerns, and Vitamin E which improves circulation and prevents diabetic related complications.
  • Diet- Probably the most important step in reversing diabetes is watching what you eat. Be sure your diet is one that is high in foods that have a low glycemic index (100% stone ground whole wheat breads rather than white, oatmeal cookies instead of chocolate chip, roasted vegetables in place of fried foods, etc.). Foods that have a low glycemic index will reduce blood sugar, insulin levels, and the need for medication; they also help lower weight and blood pressure as well as support your health and energy levels. Traditional diabetes care can become a thing of the past (or perhaps, never a part of your future) by taking the time to implement these steps in reversing diabetes. Diabetes can be dealt with, but it is up to you to put an END to it.
